Why balls fail
A padel ball is a pressurised rubber core wrapped in felt. It is designed to lose pressure slowly, which is why it comes in a sealed tube. Failures come from three places: the core was pressurised badly, the rubber compound is not what was specified, or the tube does not hold its seal.

The third one is the cruellest, because the ball leaving the factory is genuinely good. It arrives in your market flat, and there is no way to argue about it because the ball itself is proof of nothing.
The tests that matter
Rebound height. Drop the ball from a fixed height onto a hard surface and measure the bounce. This is the number the professional federations use and it correlates directly with what a player will feel.
Internal pressure. Measured with a gauge, sampled per batch. It tells you whether the pressurisation step was done to spec or rushed.
Felt weight and adhesion. Cheap felt sheds. A ball that goes bald in three matches was made with the wrong cloth, and the customer will blame your brand, not the factory.
Tube seal. Pressure-test the sealed tube, not just the ball. A perfect ball in a leaking tube is a flat ball by the time it reaches the club.
Specifying the ball
Write the rebound range, the pressure range and the felt weight into the contract with tolerances. Ask for batch traceability so that if a bad lot appears in your market you can identify it rather than recall everything.
On volume, request a retained sample from each production batch, sealed and dated, held at the factory. It costs nothing and it changes the conversation completely when a customer complains six months later.
The commercial point
Balls are a low-margin, high-frequency product, which means the temptation to shave the specification is permanent. A brand that keeps its ball consistent for two years builds a club-level following that no amount of racket marketing can buy. A brand that ships one bad batch spends a year explaining it.
